Your Sun Wisdom Will Help You Keep Your Healthy Habits
August 16, 2025
If you struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle, you are not alone! Many of my students and clients mention this as one of their main challenges. The upcoming cosmic events present an opportunity to embody the healthy habits and routines you desire and deserve. Applying Leo’s Sun Energy wisdom to our Virgo healthy routine is key to maintaining lasting health.
This coming week, we move from Leo to Virgo. The week will culminate with the first New Moon in Virgo this year. Then, we’ll have a Lunar Eclipse and a Full Moon in Pisces on September 7th, followed by a second New Moon in Virgo, and a Solar Eclipse on September 21st.
All these upcoming events present an excellent opportunity to develop healthy habits that support our overall health and well-being.
If you struggle with sticking to a healthy routine and feel defeated and ashamed for not leading the healthy lifestyle you desire, this post is for you.
The transition from Leo to Virgo is a key component in cultivating a healthy lifestyle and adopting healthy habits. We must maintain our Leo, or Sun Energy, to transition into Virgo, or earthy Mercury Energy, in a way that supports us best.
There are four main Sun Energy lessons we must apply to our Virgo health routine.
1. Prioritizing Your Health and Well-Being
First, you prioritize yourself, then you cultivate the right habits. Without the first step, you’ll never succeed in the second. Your health is more important than your career, taking care of others, pursuing your creative ambitions, attending to your social engagements, and consuming information.
There was a very distinct moment when I decided to prioritize my health. It was about ten years ago when I was confused about my career direction. I received an offer from a former employer that included an excellent salary, stability, and benefits.
The only problem was that I knew the price tag – I would work long hours under a lot of stress, and I would not have enough time to exercise and prepare my meals. I then decided that my health was non-negotiable. This led me to find a job that offered a lower salary but was less stressful and could accommodate my health needs.
Since then, I’ve been making 95% of what my family and I eat. However, since my son was born, I have been struggling to find time for exercising and maintaining a healthy sleep routine.
As I entered perimenopause, exercise and good sleep became critical for my physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
I started exercising vigorously for 75 minutes three times a week, going to sleep at 11 PM every night, and avoiding screens at least an hour before bedtime. This surely made me work fewer hours a day than I was used to. But I became significantly more focused and energetic, which made me much more efficient with the time I have.
There were some compromises that I had to make. For example, I gave up on my beloved yoga classes and my bi-weekly acupuncture session. I spend less time with my son on Sundays because I devote a few hours to a weekly recharge, which includes exercising, taking a warm bath, and using red light therapy. But then my son gets me at my best and will hopefully get me for many more years than otherwise.
2. Being Passionate about Your Healthy Routine – You’ve Got to Love It!
If you try to impose a regime that does not bring you joy, that you don’t really love and don’t feel passionate about, you won’t keep it for long.
I LOVE my Tracy Anderson exercises. They are so hard that I feel like I am going to die in the middle, but then I finish them, and I feel empowered and strong. I also love the choreography and dancing with the upbeat music, which keeps playing in my head throughout the day. It brings me so much joy.
3. Searching for What Works with Curiosity and Openness
It might take time to find what works – apply curiosity to the process of finding your health routine. Tell yourself, ‘This month, I’ll try this, and let’s see how it works.’ This will alleviate the feeling of defeat if it doesn’t work, which, by the way, is one of the things that holds you back from trying the next thing that might be your thing.
4. It Has to be Energizing!
We are talking about Sun Energy, which means energy! If your routine does not make you feel more energized, it is not the right one. Be grateful you tried it, and now you know what doesn’t work, then move on to something else.
I believe sweating is necessary. Relaxing practices are valuable, but if you only sit on the cushion and relax without moving your body or sweating, you are missing the point.
Nutrition is important, as is the length and quality of your sleep. There is so much information on what’s right – make sure you get your information from people who know what they are talking about (I highly recommend the book “Outlived” by Peter Attia and his podcasts, too). Try various things until you find what truly energizes you.
This week, review your health habits and see if they meet these four Sun Energy rules. Does your healthy routine work for you? And if not, which of these rules should you apply to make it work? I’d love to hear from you.
Have a wonderful week,
With love,
Yael
Your very last change to start living the life you love. We meet this coming Wedensday!
