Do Romance Like a Leo: Be Loved

July 26, 2025

Leo is the sign of romance, but Libra is the sign of romantic relationships, so what is the difference between the two? Answering this question, we can learn Leo’s valuable lesson that we must apply to our romantic relationships before we merge with another person in the Venusian way.

This morning, I was surprised to recall my dream in which I accused my husband of not keeping his promise to marry me and have a child with me, and wasting my last precious fertile years in vain.

It is strange that I dreamed it, because in real life, things were exactly the opposite! When we started dating, I told my husband that I was unsure I wanted to get married again, as I had already been divorced twice. We were only together for about two weeks, and yet, he told me that one day he would want to marry me. My heart melted, and I told him that I would agree to marry him.

We got married less than three months later, when I was going through a miscarriage, losing the first pregnancy I’d had in my life. Then, my husband encouraged, supported, and urged me to have a child, and I have already shared the story of my miraculous pregnancy.

I believe that the dream was triggered by the situation of a few of my friends who are currently in relationships that aren’t clear, with men who show them love and respect but are not ready to commit to them fully.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, the planet of our ego. Leo loves romance because of our most primal yearning – to be loved.

Leo seeks love everywhere, primarily through romantic relationships, because Leo is also passionate and loves the drama of being alive, and what’s more dramatic and passionate than a love story?

Venus rules Libra. Venus seeks a relationship because it wants to merge with another person! It’s not so much about being loved and loving another, but more about the unity with another that makes us feel connected to the world around us. Together, we don’t have to face the challenges of life and make all the hard decisions on our own.

It does not mean that we don’t also want to love others: Moon seeks to love emotionally, Pluto wants to love physically, and Neptune longs to love spiritually. But these aspects of love are not necessarily romantic.

I know what you might think – Leo is ego, so we should ignore it. What Leo wants is superficial. We should enter into a relationship only under the Venusian terms of Libra. But do we really?

The low road of Leo is to want to be loved so badly that we look for love in all the wrong places. We decide that someone should love us and refuse to accept that they wouldn’t fulfill the role we have given them in our lives. We cling to the nice gestures they show us. We blame feeling unloved on our wounds or their wounds, and we accept it. I am sure you can feel that I speak from personal experience.

The high road of Leo is to remember that our need to feel loved is our compass. The desire to merge should go hand in hand with the desire to be loved; it should not overshadow it.

Leo is the part of us that wants to ensure that we don’t lose ourselves while merging. That we get what we want and what we need in a relationship, that we are loved and respected.

Thanks to my evolution and growth, I have learned not to give my heart to those who were unclear about their willingness and ability to give me their heart in return. This was when I met my husband.

I kept reminding myself that if I stayed in a situation where I felt unloved, I gave a message to the universe that this was enough for me. It never was.

Throughout our 11 years of marriage, there have been times when I didn’t feel loved. When it happened, I would always talk about it and demand that my husband prove me wrong.

And I am not saying that everyone should know they want to get married after two weeks together, or want to marry at all. But I am saying that if you are in a relationship, you should not compromise on feeling loved exactly how you want to be loved. You should feel chosen. You should feel that your ego is dancing with excitement and joy. Only then can merging be beneficial and supportive.

If you are in a relationship, ask yourself if you feel loved and chosen in it? If not, what can you do to make a change? You can also ask yourself if you love and choose the other person? Do you give them what they deserve?

If you are not in a relationship and are looking to be in one, reflect on your relationship choices so far – have you made sure to feel loved and chosen in your previous connections, or did you allow people to treat you with disrespect? Have you wasted your time on people who did not choose you completely, trying to impose your dreams on reality in vain?

This Leo season is a great time to connect with Leo’s romance – the one that’s all about being truly and fully loved by another person.

I’d love to hear from you! Share your Leo love story with me.

Have a wonderful week,

With love,

Yael
